Hickory Hideout is located in the Carolina Vistas community in Robbinsville, North Carolina — in the heart of the Great Smoky Mountains. It is approximately 20 minutes from the Tail of the Dragon at Deals Gap and 45 minutes from the Cherohala Skyway.

The cabin is just a 20-minute drive from the start of the Tail of the Dragon (US 129 at Deals Gap) — one of the most famous motorcycle and sports car roads in the world, featuring 318 curves in 11 miles.

Cell service in the mountains is limited. Once you arrive, you can connect to our high-speed WiFi (50 Mbps verified) for calls, texts, and streaming. We strongly recommend downloading offline maps (Google Maps or Apple Maps) before your trip.

Dogs are welcome with prior approval. You must disclose the number and breed of dogs before booking. A one-time non-refundable pet fee of $150 applies. Cats and other animals are not permitted. Dogs must stay off furniture and cannot be left alone unless crated.

The initial 50% deposit is non-refundable. Cancellations made more than 60 days before check-in receive a refund of payments beyond the deposit. Cancellations within 60 days are non-refundable. We recommend purchasing travel insurance.

The cabin features an indoor jacuzzi, heated tile floors, heated towel racks, gas and electric fireplaces, a chef's kitchen with Bosch induction cooktop, 65-inch 4K Smart TVs on every level, Netflix/Hulu/Disney+/HBO/Prime/Apple TV, fast WiFi, a private fire pit, covered carport, washer & dryer, and a coffee bar with pods and grounds.

Check-in is at 4:00 PM via smart lock — there is no key exchange needed. You will receive a door code and detailed directions (including a video) before your arrival. Check-out is by 10:00 AM.

Hickory Hideout accommodates up to 5 guests total with a maximum of 4 adults. The cabin has two bedrooms: a lower master suite with a King bed and an upper loft suite with a Queen bed. A Pack 'n Play crib is available for infants.

Yes! The cabin has paved access suitable for all vehicles including sports cars, motorcycles, and trailers. There is a covered carport to protect prized vehicles, a trailer turnaround area, and a car wash station.

The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is approximately a 1-hour drive from the cabin. Fontana Dam (the tallest dam in the eastern US) is about 40 minutes away, and Fontana Lake offers kayaking, boating, and fishing.

The nearest full grocery store is Ingles Market, approximately 19 minutes from the cabin in Robbinsville. We recommend stocking up before arriving as the cabin is in a secluded mountain setting.

50% of the total stay is due at booking as a non-refundable deposit, plus a $250 refundable damage deposit. A second payment of 25% is charged 60 days before check-in. The remaining balance is charged 14 days before check-in. If you book within 60 days, the first two payments are combined.

Booking direct saves you money — Airbnb charges guests a service fee of 14-20% on top of the nightly rate. Our direct booking site charges only a 3% processing fee to cover credit card costs. You get the same cabin, same hosts, same 4.99-star experience, for less.

Yes! The lower master suite features a large indoor jacuzzi tub with a stone fireplace backdrop and antler chandelier. It is one of the most popular features of the cabin. The loft suite also has its own full bathroom with a tub.

The two closest airports are Asheville Regional Airport (AVL), approximately 1 hour 40 minutes away, and McGhee Tyson Airport (TYS) in Knoxville, Tennessee, also approximately 1 hour 40 minutes away.
